A Plex music player for Android

Play your Plex music library, next to the music on your phone.

Shuttle Music is an Android music player built around the music itself. Point it at your Plex server and your albums, artists and playlists appear in a library that also holds the files on your phone. I make it on my own, and it has no ads and no account of its own.

Connect to Plex

  1. Install Shuttle Music from Google Play.
  2. Open Settings, choose to add a source, and pick Plex.
  3. Sign in with your Plex account.
  4. Choose your server and its music library, then let the first sync finish.

Your Plex login stays on your device and is only sent to Plex and your server.

What works

  • Streaming from your server, with FLAC and Opus playing natively.
  • Gapless playback, a reorderable queue, and your place saved between sessions.
  • A 10-band equalizer with presets, a preamp and ReplayGain by track or album.
  • Android Auto, Chromecast, home-screen widgets and a sleep timer.
  • Playlists and smart playlists, with your phone's own files in the same library.

Questions

Do I need Plex Pass?

Shuttle Music connects to your Plex server with your Plex account and doesn't ask for anything else. What your Plex account or server requires is up to Plex.

Can I use my phone's music and Plex together?

Yes. Local files and your Plex library appear in one library.
