An Emby music app for Android

Stream your Emby music library, next to the music on your phone.

Shuttle Music is an Android music player that connects to your Emby server and shows your albums, artists and playlists in one library with the files on your phone. I make it on my own, and it has no ads and no account of its own.

Connect to Emby

  1. Install Shuttle Music from Google Play.
  2. Open Settings, choose to add a source, and pick Emby.
  3. Enter your server address, including the port (8096 by default) and http:// or https://, then your Emby username and password.
  4. Let the first sync finish, then browse and search as usual.

Your server login stays on your device and is only sent to your server.

What works

  • Streaming from your server, with FLAC and Opus playing natively.
  • Gapless playback, a reorderable queue, and your place saved between sessions.
  • A 10-band equalizer with presets, a preamp and ReplayGain by track or album.
  • Android Auto, Chromecast, home-screen widgets and a sleep timer.
  • Playlists and smart playlists, with your phone's files in the same library.

Questions

Can I use my phone's music and Emby together?

Yes. Local files and your Emby library appear in one library.

Do I need an account with Shuttle Music?

No. You sign in to your own server, and Shuttle Music has no account of its own.
